Hallows Eve

So I had a great plan for the Halloween Candy we gave at the door.
1. Buy candy that I didn't absolutly love, so I wouldn't eat it all before Halloween.
2. And so I bought these.
3. But now...
4. We have leftovers. And I'm really wishing I would've bought chocolate cause I really don't want to eat this (and I don't think anyone else does either!)

Scary creatures.

Grace as Ahsoka Tano (anyone into Star Wars The Clone Wars? Well. She is).

And of course, what is Halloween without a Surfing Pumpkin? Obviously at our house, it's a must. Adam worked quite hard on this puppy...

Grandma's Halloween Box

Yes, this is a very attractive close-up of Spencer's Puketacular Pumpkin (he has informed me that Halloween night, fake vomit will be coming out of this pumpkin's mouth)

But the real news is the package behind the pumpkin!
Sophie had been waiting for days for the annual beloved "Grandma Box". She scoured the porch everyday after school for anything that resembled a box from Grandma.
Then it FINALLY came. And the wait was worth it.
For some odd reason Grandma felt that a few cookies would not be enough...each child had at least a dozen for themselves. Wow. Can we say spoiled little cookie monsters at my house?<

Thanks Grandma! We love you. (and yes, I know I've got some weird stuff in this post, but I can't figure out how to get it out. Sorry. :))

Carving Up a Little Halloween

We had a little Carving Chaos...but the good news was Grace didn't dry heave the entire time like last year.
And Maceys has a great deal on pumpkins...9 cents a pound! Wow.

And PS...I just ate an entire Snickers Bar...yes, the WHOLE thing, because they were always my favorite. But now...I think I might throw-up. That was a whole lotta Snickers and not so appetizing right now. When will I learn?

Our Resident Thespian...and Love Day Too...

Spencer was Jim Bridger in his fourth grade play...we had no idea he had such a flare for the dramatic...and especially physical comedy. Grandma Char was able to enjoy learning about the history of Utah.
Grace was all dressed up with some very special Valentines Day Party to go to...
Spencer's Top Secret Valentines Day Box.
Sophie (after weeks of asking me how many days until...) was so happy to hear that Today Was THE DAY!
Lucy didn't know what all the fuss was about, but couldn't be happier.
And well, Adam got a little surprise when he went to work...and was just a teensy bit humiliated having to drive down the freeway with ridiculous, lovey things all over his windows... Poor baby...happy V Day to all and to all a goodnight!

The Night Before Christmas

We spent Christmas Eve with Adam's family...and we got an extremely rare photo of Lucy cuddling with Grandpa Joe. Actually, she looks a little worried, but I'm certain there are more cuddles to come!
And Aunt Alison got Uncle Josh some Batman pjs...just like Noah's. POW! KAZAM! Watch out Santa!

We had some cuddles with Lucy as well, and the girls loved standing right by Grandma as she zipped through about a dozen Christmas Carols. We had so much fun singing. And you can see the kids sporting their Christmas pjs.

We had such a great night... and loved reading about the birth of our Savior with the family. Christmas really could come more than once a year. I wouldn't mind at all.

Thanksgiving keeps on GIVING

Of course it's fitting with it being Thanksgiving to reflect on all the blessings at the White House. We are TRULY grateful for all of them. Especially for our freedom (our thoughts are not far from Nick in Qatar...), our God, and our family. What more do you need in life? The day after Thanksgiving, we had a great day finding a Christmas tree. We drove up Ogden Canyon and found this great little, remnicient of the good old days, family tree lot, where they grew the most beautiful trees.
These sisters sure do love each other. Grace can't keep her hands off of little Lu, but I guess we all have a Lucy obsession.
We spent four days with Grandma and Grandpa, and even though we both live in Utah...it felt like such a nice vacation for us to spend it an hour away from our home...playing games, watching movies, eating great food, and getting ready for Christmas.
We got to spend a great day with Adam's family. We roasted marshmellows and made gooey smores in the backyard. Uncle Josh, Aunt Alison and Noah are enjoying the fun.
We're so grateful that Grandpa Joe is with us. He's such a fighter and we're grateful for everyday that we get to spend with him.
We also enjoyed the Discovery Museum with Adam's family.
Jared and Analia came up from California. Here are the "new" babies, Lucy, Shaunalia, and Brody.
Lucy found a new love. The bike!
Aunt Shari and Grandma Davis had Thanksgiving at our house. The cousins loved putting on a Thanksgiving Readers Theatre.
Grandma in the kitchen. The food was delicious and we had WAY TOO MUCH.
Lucy with all the pretty girls. We loved having Grandma Davis there. She's so fun and never misses a beat...jumped right in when we all discussed the Twilight movie. And she's going to Jerusalem a think this week. Nothing stops Grandma. She's always up for anything.
This Sophie loved turkey. She couldn't tear her eyes off it while Grandpa carved it for dinner. I would say, that was her favorite part of Thanksgiving.
