Did I Mention I Have a Two-Year-Old?

To all of you with two-year-olds, I say bless you. I am one of those fortunate few...and yes it is mostly delicious to be a mother of a wonderous, inquisitive, and determined child.

BUT

Today. Well, yesterday too. I just wonder...

So I have this cream. This very expensive eye cream that I keep in a very special place, for my very special 37-year-old wrinkly eyes...(pathetic, huh?) And I relish this cream. And I love it because when I put it on it makes me feel like the magic is working, smoothing out my getting-wrinklier-by-the-day-undereyes.

And today Lucy found it.

And now it is no more. Spread all over her hands and the counter and smeared all over terracotta tiles which do not particularly enjoy magic-making-eye-cream. For the tiles, it's just something greasy to clean up. My under-eye area was very sad. And so am I.

Boo-hoo.

Ears pierced...check

So since I don't have a replacement camera yet, I was looking around on line for a pretty generic photo of an ear piercing....uhm. My advice. Don't look for that :) It brings up all sorts of crazy piercing photos...and well. Just take my advice.

So I have no picture of Sophie in the chair at Claires, no in the chair/out of the chair/ in the chair/ no, now out, crying, holding her teddy bear, squeezing Grace's hand, whoops she's out of the chair and out of the store and determined NOT to get her ears pierced.

Wait. She's back. Determined to get ears pierced so she can wear sparkly panda bear earrings (in 8 weeks). But still she clutches those Panda Bears like they are her life line.

Tada! Sophie did it. (Whew). It was quite an event.

And Grace got her ears re-pierced, since about a year and half ago her earring was pulled almost completely out of her ear. OUCH. So they had healed and we did it again.

Do you remember when you got your ears pierced? I think I was 10? And I was definetly a drama queen. I screamed, I cried, and then I was eventually happy that I got them pierced. sigh. I guess I shouldn't wonder where we get all the drama in our house. :) So a right of passage has been completed. Two little girls are now trying to be big with new sparkly earrings.
